SACS NI Region is delighted to
hear of the appointment of Lyall
Plant as the Director of the
Countryside Alliance Ireland
(CAI) earlier this year. With so
much in common between the CAI
and SACS and indeed, so many
hurdles for both organisations
to overcome on behalf of country
sports here in Northern Ireland,
it makes sense for the two
largest country sports
organisations in Ireland to
forge closer links and work
together on issues that affect
all sportsmen and sportswomen in
the Province.
SACS NI Regional Secretary, Bill
Beckett and Lyall Plant have had
several meetings to develop
strategy that will effectively
deal with matters of mutual
concern. Clearly the two
organisations have areas of
particular interest and
expertise which, when combined,
will make a formidable pressure
group. Bill & Lyall have
already commence work on the
lead shot issue, the abolition
of game licences and the
reduction of the upper age for
shotgun shooting. |
